Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the evolution of the understanding of the brazilian Superior Courts regarding the setting of the initial term for progression of the prison system regime, in such cases in which the sum of sentences resulting from a new conviction, whether for the practice of an offense occurred before or during the criminal execution already in progress. In conclusion, some perceptions are presented as a trend of brazilian jurisprudence.
